All-terrain pushchair that offers lightweight durability and excellent maneuverability. The compact fold that can be folded with just one hand makes it easy to move. It can also stand on its own when folded. The padded seat reclines to a near-flat position, and there’s a huge storage bin and canopy. Baby-friendly? Yes, with an additional carrycot.
Good suspension and air-filled tyres will handle rough terrain well. You can also use it for jogging. However, you should wait until the baby is at least 6 or 9 months old.
Ickle Bubba XL Air
This lightweight pushchair from Ickle Bubba is packed with lots of features that parents will enjoy. The travel system includes a lie flat carrycot for infants as well as a dual-position forward and rear facing seat for the pushchair.
The XL Air is a really impressive car and it’s easy to understand why it has been awarded so many praises from its customers. It is extremely light – the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg. It is extremely easy to put together. In fact, I was able to complete the entire setup and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty impressive considering it included attaching the fabric for the carrycot!
The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was easy to use. There’s a good amount of space in the basket too and I like the fact that it comes with a zip-up compartment in the handle bar so that you can keep your phone and keys secure!
The only slight downside is the handlebar is low, which could be an issue for parents who are taller. It’s covered with soft, supple leather-like material, which is easy to clean.
Hauck Pushchair Runner
The Runner is made for sporty parents who are eager to go outside and explore. The large pneumatic wheels can be used on field and forest trails. The front wheel can be locked and swivels to allow for greater versatility. The stroller also comes with 5-point safety harness with a front bar that keeps your child secure on all trips. The parking brake keeps the stroller in place as you take a break. The comfortable seat is easy to adjust down to a lying position, and the canopy can be opened to allow to allow for maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be height-adjusted by more than 30 cm to accommodate dad’s or mom’s heights.
Whether you’re going for short jogs or a hike that lasts a while, the Runner is ready to join you on your journeys with a comfortable, flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee smooth, safe ride. The front wheel is lockable to provide more stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks and the stroller folds easily to fit in car boots and storage spaces.
The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to maneuver for some parents than its predecessor. Also the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) is less user-friendly. The handlebars are a bit higher than the ones of other competitors, so they might not be suitable for smaller parents. However, this stroller is sturdy and versatile and should be considered by active families.

Red Kite’s Pace is a fantastic product from the cost-effective British brand. They are well-known for their simple, well-designed products that are essential for parents. It’s their latest and most expensive addition to the stroller line that is a bargain and lightweight. Similar to the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it’s car seat compatible, meaning you can use it from the time of birth.
The new Pace features some stunning design elements, including a rose-gold tint on the hood, chassis and stroller trims, which really make it stand out. The grey, tan and cream fabrics on the stroller and the car seat are stylish and there is an option to add an coordinating handle for the cover and bumper bar too.
It’s suitable for babies up to a maximum weight of 22kg and the stroller seat converts easily from the carrycot into a 2-in-1 reversible mode, parent or world-facing. The stroller seat features multiple lie-back positions, soft padded legs rests, and an extended sun canopy with hidden zip sections with a view-through flap, and retractable visor.

Bugaboo Fox 5
Created to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo’s new Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis features a shorter wheel distance, making it more manoeuvrable than its predecessor. I tested it with my two children eight weeks old and a toddler – on rocky pavements as well as grassy wooded paths and even cobblestones.
The large, puncture-proof wheels – either 22cm or a bit larger – can handle various terrains. They also come with a handy flap that opens or closes to allow more air in if you need it and is a nice feature. It’s a bit larger than some pushchairs, but it isn’t heavy or bulky when you push it over bumpy surfaces.
The seat fabric is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are easy to clean. It’s also much quieter than some pushchairs, and I felt safe using it on busy city streets. One of the advantages is that it comes with accessory points. This means you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block wind and rain, although it’s not waterproof. The single pram can be outfitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included) that gives your child more legroom. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set up and it took the same amount of time to transform it into an actual seat.
