1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we’ve examined. They feature motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost, a feature that increases the robot vacuum cleaner uk‘s power when it detects an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5’s navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it’s prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn’t navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn’t have a camera to see around corners.
It’s still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Additionally, it’s quiet and you can use it while you’re at work, or at school. The only thing it doesn’t have that you can’t find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It’s also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don’t hold on well and aren’t able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. However, it doesn’t have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors’ Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It’s a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something hasn’t been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

It’s also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you’re willing to put up with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

It also features “Intelligent Dirt Detection”, which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on how dirty they are.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you’d think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot vacuum cleaner uk mop cleaners that we’ve examined. It’s also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.
